Hello group:
A few studies have been published recently questioning the value of intravenous thrombolysis for treatment of CRAO:
Preterre C, et al. Intravenous alteplase versus oral aspirin for acute central retinal artery occlusion within 4.5 h of severe vision loss (THEIA): a multicentre, double-dummy, patient-blinded and assessor-blinded, randomised, controlled, phase 3 trial. Lancet Neurol 2025:24:909-919.
Ryan SJ, et al. A randomized trial of tenecteplase in acute central retinal artery occlusion. N Engl J Med 2026:394:442-450.
Have you or your institutions used this information to curtail IV thrombolysis for CRAO, or are you still treating and waiting for more data?
Thanks for your input.
