    Great long term solution as it permanently solves the inheritance problem.  But there are some unresolved risks related to mitochondrial / nuclear communications that may or may not be problematic (I await with bated breath).

    But note that this was done in the UK. Patrick Yu Wai Man in on top of this.  This is not an issue for us in the US. This is "genetic engineering" and is illegal and would never be approved by IRB or NIH in the US.  This was made eminently clear when Valerio and I broached the subject about 20 years ago.
